“I’ve been into music since I was a child. Music isn’t just a hobby for me; it’s my lifeblood. Singing and playing the piano brings me so much happiness and peace. They help me express a side of myself that’s truly special. One of my favorite pieces would probably be Agnus Dei, written by Samuel Barber. It’s hard to pick one. Practice always comes in hard… but I usually spend around one to two hours on music. For example, choir practices last around two hours. Yes, I love my church people! But also, my school choir friends which are so dear to my heart like, Kat, Ellie, and Bella. There aren’t many challenges I face since I do play and sing for the enjoyment, but stage fear is one of the most prominent fears I feel like any person who performs music has. When you warm up before stage, you get onto stage, it just catches up on you and it’s really hard to beat it but… here’s one of my favorite quotes by Mark Twain, ‘Courage is resistance to fear.’ It emphasizes that overcoming stage fear isn’t about never feeling fear, but rather facing it head-on and mastering it.”
