“We are going on the WIAA Exchange Team, we are going to Hiroshima, Japan. We are going to go all around and wrestle their local high schools and get beat up a little bit. I think it was one of the Mount Tahoma High School coaches that asked us to head over there. We are leaving in three days; we’re going to be there for two weeks and come back on July 4. My teammate, Gil Mossburg will be going as well, as well as 13 other kids from Washington. I’m really excited for the vending machines in Japan, I heard that they are pretty on point over there. I want to buy a blanket and a whole pizza over there. We are going over there for a cultural experience, we will have five matches over there, during the two weeks we are over there, as well as living with families from Japan to see their culture. It is not much of a competition, but more to see their culture.”
