Riley Parker

Senior Riley Parker has been involved in baseball ever since he was young. He started with tee ball and has worked his way up to playing varsity. Playing one year on junior varsity and three as a varsity player, he has played positions from catcher to shortstop. Hoping to finish the season with plenty of wins, Parker works hard every practice.
“I love playing shortstop because you are in the middle of all the action and you get more involved. I love everything about baseball from being able to create an awesome bond with my teammates to celebrating every win,” Parker said.
Parker has played up ever since elementary school because of his ambition and dedication in preparing himself for each baseball game. This has taught him many lessons in being small but still working hard.
“Playing up with older teammates ever since I was little was nerve wracking at first but I knew I could compete with them. It pushed me to work harder and that being the youngest kid doesn’t stop you,” Parker said.
Through Parker’s work ethic he also has many people that support him such as his brother and grandpa. He has played with his older brother Tyler, ever since he was little.
“My support system is really solid. I used to play and go watch my brother’s games when I was younger. He now is an assistant coach and helps with the pitchers. It’s really fun having him there because we joke around with each other and bicker back and forth. I also have my Grandpa who supports me as much as he can and has since I was five years old They are constantly supporting me and helping me improve,” Parker said.
Parker proves that devotion and love for a sport helps with other situations in his life. Parker has decided to attend Bellevue College with a secured spot on the team next fall.
