Why Am I Still Here?

If you are a senior, you may be asking yourself, “What am I still doing here?”, “Why is it necessary for me to be in this class?”, “What is my purpose?”.

Seniors may find themselves anxious at school; wishing and waiting for the year to finally end. It is a constant struggle to want to start your life and do the things you want to do, when you’re stuck in a metaphorical “box” that is high school. But fear not, for the first semester is a mere week and a half from ending, and the finish line is in sight. These last few months together should be a breeze.

It is important for seniors to enjoy these last couple of months. In doing so, they should focus more on what’s important than on what’s not. We need to ditch the drama and toxic people that constantly fill our lives, and replace them with friendships/ memories that you can cherish forever. Because in a year, will all these petty little things matter? We need to focus more on what we can do to change things for the better, and how to make an impact on peoples lives.

So, enjoy it. Enjoy the freedom. Enjoy making mistakes, and learning from them too. Enjoy the little things. Because the harsh reality is in another year things will never be the same, and life will be completely different.
