Christmas Every Night
November 14, 2017
Snowflake Lane is a holiday tradition that takes place every year from Black Friday to Christmas Eve in Bellevue at 7p.m. Snowflake Lane is full of dancing characters, drummers, ‘snow’, sing along music and so much more that your whole family can enjoy.
Some of the our students are characters in Snowflake Lane. Senior Savannah Eckstrom has been a part of Snowflake Lane before.
“I did Snowflake Lane because all my friends were doing it and it was my first job. They are really good at training people who haven’t done a job before and getting them in a work environment. It’s hard to stay on top of school with Snowflake Lane, but I am constantly on the go with sports and theater. You must get used to doing school work in the car or on breaks but you get accustom to it. Since I don’t want to perform in the future professionally, I’m happy I can still get a taste of it,” Eckstrom said.
The performers of Snowflake Lane perform every night and get paid. Jamie Stout is a freshman and this is her first year as a cast member of Snowflake Lane because this is the first year they added color guard to the Snowflake Lane performance.
“I really like performing and this is my first year doing color guard for the school so I thought it would be fun to audition. I’ve seen Snowflake Lane before and I really want to be part of family holiday traditions and maybe inspire younger kids who see me and want to be a part of Snowflake Lane when they are older,” Stout said.
Mairead Rising is a senior and this is her third year participating in Snowflake Lane.
“I’m super excited for Snowflake Lane this year. A lot of my friends are in Snowflake Lane this year and it’s just a great environment to be in for the holiday season. It’s hard to manage school with Snowflake Lane because it is every single day after school including Sunday so you never really get a day off but I think it’s worth it because it’s really fun and a great way to make money,” Rising said.
Snowflake Lane is a huge time commitment that is an amazing Holiday tradition for many students. Come and see a performance this holiday season with your family.
