There are many pits and peaks from having a family member attend school with you. For some people like Delaney Ivankavich, it’s the best thing.

“I like having my sister here because I have someone to look out for me,” Ivankavich said.

When attending a new school, it may be intimidating, but when you have a sibling there you may feel safer.  Having an older sibling may help you know more people there, making you feel safer.

“Because of my sister, I know a lot more people,” Emily Habib said.

Having a sibling that has or use to have the same teacher as you in very beneficial work wise.

“You can talk with them about the work you have and they can help you,” Katy Krismer said.

“When teachers like my sister it gives me an in with the teacher sometimes,” Ivankavich said.

Many times, you may be in a fight with your family member or just want to mess with them, and school is a great place for public humiliation.

“It’s a great place to embarrass my sister in front of her friends,” Avery Carpenter said.

But, PDA (public displays of affection) is always disturbing to see in the hallways. Its not just couples that show this.

“In the hallways my sister tries to hug me or kiss me and I don’t like the attention being drawn to me,” Ivankavich said.

However, some siblings do the exact opposite greeting in the hall.

“My sister doesn’t like to be around me and every time I see her in the halls she just glares at me,” Carpenter said. 

Katy Krismer talks about being a twin and how she and her brother (Ryan Krismer) have the same classes.

“Some of the teachers think we copy off of each other,” Krismer said.

If you steal some of your family member’s clothes, you can’t get away with it.

“You can’t wear some of their shirts because they will catch you wearing it at school,” Habib says.

Overall, the siblings say that their are pros and cons to being at the same school.
