Located in Clearview, Macho Burger is a Mexican American burger joint with various sides and milkshakes. As I stepped in, I was greeted with a calm and welcoming atmosphere, the lady behind the counter was ready to take my order, but as it was my first time there, I told her I’d be a minute. Looking over the menu I was very pleased with the way they laid it out, it’s not too much, or too little, but the perfect amount of menu items. With a selection of burgers, sides, and even milkshakes, it makes for a great and simple selection. Going into Macho Burger with no outside knowledge, I had no idea the menu was a mix of Mexican American food with a lot of their burger selection having poblanos (common Mexican peppers), other types of peppers, corn, and various Mexican spices. It happened to be a hot and sunny day, so I was craving something cold, my eyes lit up when I saw the milkshake menu and as I looked over it, I decided on a horchata milkshake; sadly, she told me they were out. While they were out of milkshakes, I decided to go on with my order and get the Macho Macho Burger and the fries. The total was around $19 so not too bad, I didn’t mind paying a little more for a better-quality burger and fries.
The wait was less than 10 minutes and when I got my food I was stunned, the burger was huge, and felt like I was eating a burger the size of my head. Holding my excitement, I took a big bite out of my burger, not only did this burger exceed my expectations, but they also cooked the burger to a perfect medium rare and toasted the bun perfectly. The burger patty is thick and large and takes up all the bun space unlike many other burger places nowadays, so you don’t get that feeling of opening your burger and seeing a patty half the size of the bun. I’m impressed with how juicy the burger is, the patty is juicy but doesn’t make the bun all soggy so every bite is amazing. I’m really happy with the amount of add-ons they have on it and they don’t skimp on anything. For example, they packed fresh pickled onions and red peppers on it, and they were an amazing addition to the burger and added more flavor and texture than I thought. The burger was amazing, and the fries were superb. They’re a little soggy which I love and have a very natural potato flavor. They’re a thicker fry which seems to be fried less than usual so they aren’t crispy, but it pairs well with the spicy chipotle sauce they have with it. It’s a really good sauce with a nice balance of spice. Overall, I really enjoyed Macho Burger and would go back again, I recommend you try this place out and I guarantee it will blow your expectations away.
