Top Five Shows to Binge During Winter Break on Netflix

The Netflix opening screen.

Maggie Borland, Staff Writer

With winter break coming up, people are going to have a lot of time on their hands. After Christmas comes and goes, I recommend watching any of these series to spend your time.

  1. The Witcher – TV-MA: if you are into video games or Henry Cavill, then The Witcher sounds like a match for you. If you’ve played the Witcher 3, and like it, this is a show you’ll like. It is based on the Witcher books and follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster hunter in a world where men are monsters more often than beasts.
  2. You season two – TV-MA: coming out on December 26, season two of the hit show You comes out. This season will continue where we left off in season one, following Joe Goldberg as he moves to L.A. I don’t want to spoil anything, but this is a great mystery show that keeps you on your toes.
  3. The Office – TV-14: if you haven’t seen The Office, then what are you doing? This show, based in an office in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is hilarious and makes me laugh every time I turn it on. It’s a light show that can take your mind off of coming back to school and starting the grind until spring break.
  4. Criminal Minds – TV-14: following the BAU of the FBI, this show is all about solving murders. It is gruesome, but following the different characters relationships is actually funny and you get attached to them quickly.
  5. Parks and Recreation -TV-14: following the same comedic timing as The Office, Parks and Recreation follows the lives of the members of the parks and recreation building in Indiana. I was skeptical at first (because I love The Office), but I was pleasantly surprised by it and would recommend if you’re looking for a new show to start while you have some off time.

This winter break, I would recommend starting any of these shows, as they are all great shows that will keep you entertained on our time away from school.
