“I started running track in second grade because my grandpa was a coach for 51 years at Lynnwood High School and he was their only coach for a really long time. I aspire to be like my grandpa. He would enter me into track meets in the summer on Wednesdays and so I started doing those. Then I started track competitively in sixth grade, I did club track for the Cascade Striders through COVID, but after it was shut down. I started track up again at Valley View Middle School in eighth grade and now I run at Glacier Peak. However, I just started at a new club this year called Bolt and I run indoor and outdoor track there. The events I run are the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 60-meter hurdles, 200-meter, 400-meter by 2, and 400-meter by 4. In the past I have done other events, I used to be more of a distance runner so I ran the 800-meter for a bit and just a straight 100-meter and 200-meter,” Rose said.
