“I really like the environment at GP. I think that a lot of people include others, no matter ethnicity, culture, or religion. Everyone is really nice and the sports are really good. I’m involved a lot in track and field, and I am looking forward to doing wrestling. There was a lot of signs around the school to join it and I want to try it out. I didn’t do it last year because I was scared to, but the environment that the wrestling team has, for the girls at least, promoted being inclusive and all that. I did track and field during eighth grade and then I found out I was really good at it. So, I did it last year as well during ninth grade. Then, I found it really fun so I am doing it again this year. The events I do are shotput, and discus. I was doing really well last year. I even made it to Wesco and districts,” Mendoza said.
