“I do girls swim in the fall, girls wrestling in the winter and girls track in the spring. I think swim went well this year. I had some good swims, they felt nice and paced well. The cheering of everyone else helps, it’s like ‘okay, you’ve been training for this, you got this.’ I’m looking forward to wrestling because now I have more experience and know the moves, I have the mental game you need to have going into the sport. I’m going in with more experience and connections within the team. Everyone just loves everybody, I’m excited for the new girls coming in. I don’t want it to start becoming clique-y, I want them to have the experience I had last year with everybody getting to know everybody and that unity we felt,” Vandehey said.
