“I used to work at Stocker Farms for the fall season. I would run the activities so I would usually be in charge of games, letting people through the line, and telling them the rules. I would’ve worked more, honestly. I think I could have worked way more hours than I was given because it was four or five-hour shifts, when I could’ve done more than that. My lead was one of my own friends which was cool, and all my coworkers were super nice. I didn’t have problems with anyone. It was really good because I mostly only worked on weekends and there were only two days where I worked on a school night. They were really flexible with the fact that I had school. Some children asked me if I was married and when I said no, because I’m seventeen, they then asked if I had any kids, and then I also said no. I think towards to end of the season it got super cold, so it was just miserable, but it was fun while it lasted so I’ll definitely work there next year if I have the chance. I’ve worked at Cedar Springs which is a Christian kids camp. I worked there all summer, Monday through Friday, and I would just have a group of kids for one week and we’d go through different types of games and stuff,” Martinez said.
