“As assistant stage manager I make sure that everybody’s ready in their positions, being quiet backstage, that everything is running smoothly. My favorite part is the community. Everybody’s nice, and I’ve made many friends, especially with set kids. My favorite scene is Once and for All, it’s very powerful and I like the stomp at the end. I also really like Les, played by Mikayla Gaffney, I think he’s very funny and he adds humor to the show. I do enjoy moving the chairs for Metta’s theatre because I get to look at the audience and see how many people are out there. During King of New York, we would all just lay on the floor because that was the only time we had to relax, and nobody was backstage, so we just laid on the floor and used our hands to do tap motions. I will definitely be doing this next year and I’m looking forward to just still building those connections and expanding my stage management knowledge.”
