“It was my first day training with our new goalkeeper coach. I had just finished warming up and started doing our first drill that involved diving. I dove out to make a save on a routine dive and landed on my left elbow/shoulder incorrectly. I heard a pop and immediately was is severe pain. I could not move my shoulder at first and was brought to the trainer, Darron felt around my shoulder to make sure nothing was out of place, which there wasn’t. He had me lay down and applied ice to numb my shoulder, then applied stimulant stickers around my shoulder, chest, and neck area to help my nerves. Turns out it was a strained shoulder. For recovery I went to the training room for a few days and had stimulation stickers on my shoulder, neck, and chest with ice/heat. I do shoulder exercises to measure my mobility and pain level. I have been starting to practice and play keeper again while not diving yet. I plan on making contact with the ground this weekend as I am cleared to play Monday.”
