If I had the choice to restart high school, I would absolutely take yearbook again. In middle school I knew I wanted to do it in high school, and I had two babysitters who did yearbook. I looked up to the both of them and they encouraged me to join. When I was in fourth grade I was a grizzly cub and I was brought into the yearbook room for lunch, and I was like ‘I know this is what I want to do in high school’. Freshman year was COVID so everything was online, I learned how to make simple sidebars and write stories through zoom and when we came back to school in March, there was only just a few editors who decided to return in person. They really showed me what it takes to make a yearbook. Even though making a yearbook online was hard, I fell in love with the process which is why I’ve taken it all four years. This class is truly a family, and I’m grateful for all the experiences, opportunities, and relationships throughout each year.
