“The track season’s been going well so far, I’ve just been working on myself trying to improve my start mostly because, you know, I think that’s what I’ve been lacking these past few years. I feel like the track community is honestly really great. [It’s] honestly what makes the sport for me, and I really think that if I didn’t have the community, I wouldn’t even be doing track. My favorite event is the 100-meter dash even though I keep messing up at it. I’ve been trying to work on being tenacious at it. The thing that got me into track was mostly my talent and other people kind of hyping me up to do it. Then I kind of got passion for it out of other people trying to encourage me to do it, not just my friends but also the people in the crowds and the stands. You feel the energy and it’s so electric. I fell my first race, my second race my shoe fell off while I was running and then my second season open, I fell out of my blocks. My coaches are good, I love [them]. They are helpful, overall, they know what they’re doing, and I trust them.”
