“I help a lot of people organize what they’re supposed to do and make lists of everything that needs to get built and when it needs to get finished by, so that they can use it in rehearsals when the cast is practicing. I enjoy building the bigger set pieces and seeing how it can all come together in the end. Our team works well together, most of the time we don’t know each other as well until tech week and then we start to spend more time together and we get to know each other better. For The Little Mermaid, all of the crew would wear sunglasses and we had matching black clothes and we would escort Prince Eric and Ariel out to the lobby to meet the audience members. I thought it was a good idea and it allowed us to be more involved in the after-show events. Usually [tech week] is really busy and we’re at the school for a lot of hours so we don’t have a lot of time to do homework but I like eating at the school and stuff, it can be fun. I like to make the more structural things for the background, I don’t enjoy painting as much but it’s still fun to make the structural stuff look good.”
