“First of all, the whole school life has been very different from Italy, like from the way your guys’ school works. It’s different because in Italy we are able to choose our own schools based on the classes, also this school has a lot of school spirit and assemblies while we don’t do that in Italy. Also like in Italy, many people do not do sports or have sports events at school, while here there is a lot of sports and school spirit for these events. The nationalism here is very strong compared to Italy too, I see American flags like everywhere and a lot of classrooms have the flags as well, but in Italy we don’t really have as strong of a nationalism. I’ve also noticed that America has a lot of different fast foods and drive-ins compared to Italy, like we do have fast food and stuff but its all like from America. Um, also the dinner culture here is very different because in Italy we eat at like 10 pm but Americans eat so early. Also, Americans are much nicer than I expected.”
