“When I found out I was a swim captain I was in disbelief, and I was so excited. It’s such an honor to have this leadership role and I cannot wait for next year. I haven’t wanted to be captain for a long time because I didn’t think it was a possibility, I never thought I would have the opportunity to be a captain. But in the past year my coach has been letting me know I was showing good leadership skills and he was keeping an eye out for that and so I was a little hopeful, but I didn’t expect that I would be a captain. The other captains and I are planning a bunch of team dinners and bonding events outside of swimming so we can not only be teammates but friends. I think the next season will go well because we have a great team with a bunch of talented girls, regardless of if we score well or not, I think it will be a fantastic season and we’re going to have a lot of fun.”
