Located right in front of the water and tucked away near the Everett Marina. A must-visit café sits. Many students at GP often go to cafes to study for a change of scenery to do schoolwork. A study done by Belle Surf Café showed that the ambiance of a coffee shop or café can increase students’ creativity and focus. This and a healthy mix of caffeine can greatly improve productivity that we need especially need during 2nd semester.
The Muse in Everett is a hidden gem that has everything a student needs to be successful. With high-speed Wi-Fi for any online work, and a wide range of pastries and sandwiches that are brought out to your seat, it’s an ideal place to get work done. Being housed within the historic Weyerhaeuser Building its a piece of Everett’s history. The Muse was originally constructed in 1923 as the headquarters for the Weyerhaeuser Company’s first lumber and shingle mill and over time as gone through many relocations. Being in a public space, it can also encourage accountability, as students can feel more inclined to stay on task rather than procrastinate. Studying in a big open room not your thing? All more reason you should visit The Muse, rather than have one big open space there are separate rooms offering a more private space. Whether you are with friends or studying solo each room has unique furniture and a view that makes each room have its own personality.
On top of the small bites to snack on, the wide range of special drinks is another reason to visit. Besides basic drinks like cold brews and lattes, you can also order their seasonal drinks like their Coconut Banana iced latte and Rose Hip Cardamom Matcha. Similarly to other popular coffee shops in our area, The Muse also had specialty nights like their “Shut Up and Write.” Events like these are hosted by The Muse to gather like-minded people who want to share their writings and are open to all. If you are in need of a new study spot or like visiting new places around the area The Muse should be at the top of your list.
