New Gas App Sweeps Up The Scene
January 12, 2023
These days, it’s easy to make a mobile app, but much harder to get it to stick. However, students have found that a new app by the name of Gas, which had officially launched back in August, has really taken off, keeping everyone’s attention. How it works is very similar to other apps: you download the app, make your profile, put in your school, and then add your friends.
Once you add your friends, every hour there will be a poll randomly selecting four of the people you’ve added. Most of the polls are basic questions such as, “Most likely to sing their heart out in the shower,” “This person inspires me to do my best,” or “Colors seem brighter when they’re around.”
There are also polls like “Ready for our first date when you are,” and “Would take them to prom,” and “Had a crush on them since 6th grad.” The real reason people get it is to see who their friends picked in these polls, but the catch is you cannot see who voted for you. If you want to see votes, you pay $4.99 a week for ‘God Mode’ which gives you the ability to see who voted for you in two polls every week. You’ll also get unlimited hints for who voted for you, double coins on polls– in which those coins can be used in the shop– and several other upgrades. ” I got Gas like, two weeks ago. My friends showed it to me while they were on it and were like, ‘Rylee you should get Gas,'” Rylee McDonald said.
In the app, if you click on your profile, you can see what your “Top Traits” are, which are the polls your friends voted for you the most. McDonald said he had already checked his. “Most likely to sing their heart out in the shower,” “Ready for our first date when you are,” and “Colors seem brighter when there around,” were the top three that came up for him.
McDonald said it was worth getting the app “because you can see what people think about you.” If you have extra room in your phone, make sure to check out Gas and participate in some fun polls with your friends!
