As the 2025 school year is coming to a close, seniors are getting ready for their last summer before college and planning their graduation trips. As a common tradition, parents allow their kids to vacation wherever they want to go as a celebration of completing high school. Students love to go on these trips with their closest friends, making the most of some of their last summers together. Some travel across the states while some travel across the world.
“Well, I just want to drive down the coast of like Oregon and California, make a few stops at different places, try to camp on a beach a few nights. The college I’m going to go to is on the coast of Cali, so I figured I’d stop by there too and end in LA area. Stay there about a week because I’m supposed to coach a softball tourney and coming back, I’ll probably stop by and see my family for a little, get some good food, maybe stop by Yosemite,” Lauren Hufford said.
Other students decided to travel globally, Lucy Cornelius is planning on taking a trip to Europe with some of her closest friends.
“I’m just planning on going with my family and some close friends to Greece or Italy, somewhere in Europe, to go explore and see a new place and get away before I have to move into my dorm. I’m going to Montclair State University in New Jersey for volleyball and to study kinesiology. I go in mid-August for preseason and I’m super excited to go and be on the East Coast and be so close to NYC,” Lucy Cornelius said.
With Cornelius being committed to a school from her hometown, wants this summer opportunity to spend as much time with the people in her life right now. Her senior trip is her last getaway with her friends from home before entering a new era of her life and schooling.
Overall, many students are taking vacations to celebrate graduation and the beginning of adulthood. Whether it be around the world or across the country, the students will be savoring this time before entering adulthood.
