We all have things we are proud of but, for Bob Blair and Dante Casagrande, that is their grill expertise. Whenever one of them fires up the grill they take a photo of their food, save it for a barbecue portfolio and send it to one another. Two years ago, this thread was created but only for one reason. “There are few things in this world that can please a person’s soul like good smoked meats. That is the only thing sharing your pleasure with others by taking pictures of the grill. It is the greatest gift you can give a person, Blair said.”
When Casagrande lived in Savannah, Georgia, he would also send pictures of the food he makes to his friends and colleagues and felt that he needed to bring the same tradition to Glacier Peak. Although he does not quite remember how it all started, he believes it started the same as all good things do. “I do not know how it happened. It happened organically like all good things do. We just started talking about meat and I said, ‘you know what? I take pictures of everything on the grill. Do you want to see it?’ And he said, ‘yeah.’ So, I sent him one and he said, ‘Wow that looks good,’ so I sent him like another 20. And that is it, Casagrande said.”
In the past Blair and Casagrande have made plenty of interesting kinds of food, so this text thread makes a lot of sense. The two have made bacon wrapped meatballs, turduckens, chicken wings and more and sent pictures to each other. Friendship flourished from this interaction and many teachers have tried to join but have failed even. Bob Blair and Dante Casagrande love very few things, but they both love grilled meats.
