With less than two weeks left of school, people are becoming excited and eager to have a care-free last day. Whether it is leaving right away to vacation or celebrating the day with their friends, suspense is building for summer break. With June 17 being a 10:30 school day, students have the whole day to fill with activities and relax from the long school year. Often teens have their last day planned out and ready, days before it arrives.
“On the last day I’m spending it with some friends. We’re going to go the beach because it’ll be super sunny and later in the day go to watch the sunset and a movie,” Sofia Ceja said.
Students use the sun to their advantage, choosing to go out and spend as much time in the warm weather as possible. The sun not only brings rays but delight and adventure as well.
While some families prefer to stay in the state over the summer, others leave to find a vacation spot out of the country. Tropical countries are especially loved during this sunny season, where you can tan in the sun and swim in the beach. The thought of traveling can make a family giddy to escape into the sand and sunshine.
“I’m leaving for the Bahamas on the last day of school and I’m so excited to get tan and have a break from school. My family always leaves as soon as we can so we’re out of Washington and relaxing,” Sabrina Nguyen said.
Seeing the upcoming hot weather and sunny days makes students ready to jump out their seats and leave the school for the rest of the season. This two-month break is rarely a period of time that one does not love. Once that last bell rings kids are walking out with laughter and smiles all the way home.
