In Snohomish County there are many different places to go and view the sunrise or sunset that you can enjoy the views without having to travel far. Many of these locations are free to enter, which makes them all much more fun to visit.
Starting off at the closest to Glacier Peak High School is Bailey Farm on Springhetti Road in Snohomish Valley. This sunset or sunrise viewing spot offers spectacular views of the mountains to the east or flowers during July and August. However, there is limited parking and it can get very busy once the sun goes down and if the weather is not the best, the views are weakened and not as pretty.
Next is Sunset Cove Park on Lake Stevens, which even with the name of the park refers to the sunset will turn out. There is a good amount of parking right next to the park, then there is a long wooden dock and an ample sized grass area for hanging out. To make it even better, you can swim off the dock and the park is free to the public.
Lastly, there is the Snohomish River Boat Launch right by Stocker Fields. There is many different options for parking and even a grass area to lay a blanket down. In the evening when the sun is going down there are rarely any boats entering or exiting the water so you can walk right up to the river. Many people choose to stay in their car instead especially when the weather isn’t as nice and watch the sunset from the parking lot since the view is the same from wherever you choose to view from in the area.
