The time for Christmas baking has begun! Families and friends gather during this festive time to make their favorite dishes or treats. Many of the traditional holiday flavors like peppermint, gingerbread, and cinnamon are returning to our homes. “During this time of the year, I have a specific peppermint cookie recipe that I like to bake. My family really likes it, and it is just fun to do when I’m bored,” Elise Nilsen said. The holiday season brings people together with laughter and cheer, baking, a way to make this occasion even merrier.
Along with the go-to dessert treats, the jolly spirit brings groups to make out of the norm dishes as well. The sweet dish ideas are endless, Christmas time the perfect muse for countless wintry, versatile foods. Many people get inspiration from websites like Pinterest that recommend new treats depending on the season. “I love to bake different types of desserts during the holidays. Some of my favorites to make are peppermint bark and this butterscotch pudding. I usually make these with my friends because it makes it more fun,” Lucy Cornelius said.
With the annual Christmas flavors, delicious meals are cooked up at the heart of peoples’ homes. Not only does this season bring joy into our daily lives, but it also brings it into our stomachs too. Christmas baking gathers friends and families together creating life-long memories to look back on.
