Now that the temperature is slowly dropping, mornings are frosty, and so are our cars. These colder mornings where students must wait longer for their cars to warm up before heading to school are getting closer, and students are beginning to express their feelings towards driving in this cold weather. “In the morning sometimes when coming to school, me and my brother, we have to warm up the car before we go. And we are already usually late, so it just delays our arrival, so I don’t really like it,” Junior Aiden Rapanan said.
“So, I prefer driving in warmer climates, or just warmer weather. Just because it’s easier and you can relax more, but you are still cautious obviously. But when its colder out, like raining or snowing, there are a lot more hazards to watch out for, so I personally don’t like that,” Junior Alejandro Ibarra said.
While some may lean towards the warmer for driving, other students may enjoy driving in the cold. “I drive a truck, so it doesn’t really affect me, I actually like driving when it’s snowing because it’s fun,” Junior Andres Arias said
“I think its very enjoyable because I already like driving, so when there is snow out on the roads and everything is icy, it adds to that experience, the snow and ice also add to the scenery,” Junior Ethan Luy said.
Overall, students’ opinions seem very mixed. Some students may not like the cold due to its effects on getting to school on time or just having to watch out and be more cautious with your surroundings while driving. On the other hand, others may have to disagree and say they enjoy driving while roads are slick and there is snow out because its more enjoyable and it adds to the experience while driving.
