  1. By December, I think we can all agree that we need a break from school and the amount of homework we get on a daily basis. Although winter in Washington can be pretty cold, there is still plenty of fun activities to do with your family and friends this winter break.
  2. Ice skating:  Whether you’re good at ice skating or not, it’s a fun festive activity you can do with your friends or family.  Get your tickets here: http://bellevue.com/ice-skating.php
  3. Leavenworth:  There’s no surprise that Leavenworth goes all out with their beautiful Christmas decorations. Although it’s quite the drive, you won’t want to miss out on seeing this magical town this winter.
  4. Movie/ relax day:  With the busy schedule everyone has, nobody really has the time to relax and watch movies all day. If you don’t feel like going out, then you can watch your favorite movies while eating your favorite snacks.
  5. Snowboarding/skiing :  You can hit the slopes this winter and go to Stevens pass or Snoqualmie Pass. If you what to use your time wisely, then it’s recommended you go at night because the lines are shorter so it feels like you were there the whole day. Get your tickets here: https://www.stevenspass.com/site/passes/winter-tickets/lift-ticket-pricing
  6. Bake:  You can go to the closest store near you and buy Christmas cookies to bake with your family/ friends. You can also make a gingerbread house.
  7. Snowflake lane Bellevue:  The Snowflake lane is a choreographed parade filled with dancers, drummers and performers in Bellevue. A couple of people from Glacier Peak are in the Snowflake Lane this year so this is a good way to be festive while supporting your classmates.
  8. Nutcracker:  The Nutcracker is a beautifully choreographed show of ballet dancers. Get your tickets here: https://www.olympicballet.org/obthome/performance-season/the-nutcracker/
  9. Seattle Winter Fest:  This is a big family event that includes an Ice skating rink, ice sculpting, and free live performances
  10. Space needle (New Years):  Get your tickets here: You can drive down to the space needle and watch the fireworks on New Years. Get your tickets here: https://www.spaceneedle.com/
  11. Throw a New Years party:  If you don’t want to drive all the way to Seattle to see the fireworks, and none of your friends are throwing a New Years party then you can throw one to celebrate the fresh start of a new a new year.
