As stores are bringing on their Christmas decorations, and radio stations are switching to Christmas music, people tend to forget how special Thanksgiving is.

“I’m most thankful for my grades because I work hard to get them. I’m also very thankful for my family because they are able to support me and they handle all my emotional episodes without getting annoyed” Junior Elisa Person said.

Most people often take for granted the small things, and forget how lucky we are.

“I’m most thankful for my family, my friends and where I’m currently living because it’s so safe and other parts of the world aren’t” Junior Malak Al-Muhanna said.

Many people have busy schedules and don’t have much time to spend with their family. Thanksgiving is a great time to bond with your family.

“We all sit on the floor during thanksgiving in front of the TV and watch the Cowboys game because my dad is from Dallas, and he’s their biggest fan. My dad and I are usually rooting for the Cowboys, while my mom and sister cheer on the other team” Person said.

“I don’t have a lot of family that live here but on thanksgiving, the few family that I do have, that live here come over to my house around 7 to eat” Al-Muhanna said.

As Thanksgiving approaches, people reflect on the year and on how thankful they are for what they have.
